My approach is to accept your feelings and help you to explore them. I believe that knowing our feelings helps us identify what we want. When we know what we want and why we feel as we do, our anxiety goes down and our actions and moods begin to make sense. When we get clearer about what we're about, more effective options open up to deal with our emotions and we have a better chance of getting our needs met.
Licensed Mental Health Counselor (WA)
I began counseling 24 years ago through several nonprofit settings which included counseling women, leading support groups, and providing training on issues such as depression, intimacy avoidance, codependency, control, conflict resolution, and understanding how our past impacts our present.
I have a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from The Seattle School. In May of 2015 I completed a one-year certificate program in Clinical Theory and Practice through Wellspring Counseling . In addition, I constantly pursue learning opportunities to further my growth as a mental health counselor.
