Hi my name is Regina Thomas,
I believe you have have an inner strength that often goes unrecognized. Awareness of that inner strength will allow you to overcome the barriers that have prevented you from moving forward and improving your current situation. As your therapist I will assist you to take control of your therapy and explore the stressors and concerns in your life. I have experience working in adolescent outpatient settings, group homes and therapeutic foster care. I spent the last several years working with adult clients in outpatient settings who are in need of addictions counseling, domestic violence, depression, mood disorders, grief and loss, and crisis intervention.
I utilize a variety of therapeutic methods, including The Grief Recovery Method, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness Based Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and Christian Counseling; each tailored to your specific needs and goals. intervention.
I emphasize the use of the grief recovery method as I noticed that a majority of individuals I have worked with have been emotionally incapacitated due to loss of loved ones, hopes, and or dreams.
I have experience working in crisis settings, adolescent outpatient settings, group homes and therapeutic foster care. I spent the last several years working with adult clients in outpatient settings who need of counseling for addictions, domestic violence, depression, mood disorders, grief and loss, and crisis intervention.
I earned my undergraduate degree in Liberal Arts and Science with a major in Criminal Justice at the University of Illinois, in Chicago.
I earned my Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling at Walden University.
I also have a certification in alcohol and drug counseling.
