About Me

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Private Practice in Rochester, New York offering Individual, Couples and Family Counseling and Communication Coaching Services.

My focus, as a therapist, is on the concept of Recovery (which encompasses much more than what often comes to mind...addiction or substance abuse).  My therapeutic intervention style tends toward Cognitive Behavioral Therapy; although I am very focused on working with each individual on his or her goals and am able to integrate other interventions as appropriate. Such as, Mindfulness techniques, DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy).

I have more than 18 years of experience as a clinician and educator within community mental health, hospital, and higher education settings. I have worked with a variety of individuals presenting with varied mental health challenges.

My primary area of experience has been within the field of addiction and substance abuse; in addition to extensive work in co-occurring disorder programming..

I have numerous years experience within the teaching profession, currently working as an adjunct instructor. I have taught primarily courses within the areas of Communication Effectiveness and Interpersonal Relationships.

Within my Private Practice, I offer professional clinical and educational services to individuals, families and support systems that address the Recovery Process and the stigma often associated with mental health challenges.

I have a passion and goal to assist in removing the stigma and labels placed upon those living with addiction, abuse, co-occurring issues, anxiety, depression or other mental health challenges.

I have an Undergraduate Degree from Tampa College in Business; specifically Management and Marketing. I have found this to be very helpful in connecting with individuals with whom I've worked with within the business community; assisting with leadership and team development.

My Masters Degree is from SUNY Brockport and is concentrated in Community Mental Health. I chose this program specifically due to the nature of the clinical focus of the course offerings and the consistent supervision and feedback received throughout the program.

Over the past 17+ years in the field, I have received extensive training in various topics and have sought out my own continued professional development.

Most recently I was trained in CPT (Cognitive Processing Therapy) geared toward those living with symptoms associated with trauma.
