Prior to her transition to advanced practice in pediatric primary care, Amanda began her career in emergency nursing after graduating from Columbia University's School of Nursing. She's worked in Emergency Departments across the country including New York Presbyterian Hospital, Washington Hospital Center, Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles and San Mateo Medical Center. Additionally, Amanda has worked as a consultant for the US Department of Labor's Job Corps Program and perioperatively in outpatient surgery centers across the Bay Area including UCSF's Orthopedic Institute. Her interest in healthtech and startups began with her work at One Medical Group and JumpstartMD, both medical startups in the Bay Area.
After receiving her advanced degree in 2011 from UCSF, Amanda focused her pediatric primary care in community care settings at Santa Rosa Community Health Centers and San Francisco General Hospital. Her work at both facilities included outpatient newborn care, pediatric primary care and adolescent school-based care.
Amanda's focus turned to pediatric and lactation telehealth after her family's relocation to Maryland in 2015. There she resides with her husband, a family physician and their two small children.
