About Me

Hello my name is Jamaica Murphy, my practice dedicated to creating a therapeutic environment to promote transformational change. My desire is for you to share your unfiltered stories for the purpose of meaningful growth. I offer non-judgmental guidance and support to assist you with reaching your goals. The work we do together is intentional, aimed at empowering you to be your best. Whether it’s being in a challenging relationship, suffering from a loss or increasing stress, I can help. I specialize in trauma, loss and grief; I understand how a traumatic experience or significant loss can be paralyzing. I would like to help you develop resilience so you can move forward.

I have been a practicing clinician since 2010 providing individual, family and group therapy. I have worked at a community mental health agency, psychiatric hospital and school setting for individual ages five to sixty-five. I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences since 2014 and my license number in LCS # 64889. In addition to my education and professional experiences, I have also participated in numerous trainings to increase competencies in therapeutic interventions. In addition, I received extensive training in trauma, loss and grief. I am adept with working with individuals who suffered tremendous loss, postpartum depression and PTSD. Other areas of therapeutic experience include: anxiety, depression, motivation, mood regulation, emotional disturbance, interpersonal and peer relationships. I can also assist you with stress management, boundary setting and life transitions.
I earned my bachelor’s degree from UC Berkeley in Social Welfare and Ethnic Studies, a master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Southern California (USC) and a master’s degree in Education from UCLA.
