DR. BERNADETTE M. DI TORO is the Founder & Chief Psychologist at La Jolla Psychological Solutions, Inc.

Dr. Di Toro offers psychotherapy to those struggling with a variety of challenges. Her empathic approach, understanding that seeking help takes courage, and emphasis on the therapeutic relationship, fosters a safe place to develop a better understanding of oneself. She appreciates the individuality of each person and tailors her approach accordingly. Dr. Di Toro works with adolescents, individuals, couples and families.

La Jolla Psychological Solutions, Inc. offers academic and forensic services including assessment for learning disabilities, ADHD, Pre-Employment evaluations, child custody evaluations, and memory and dementia detection, and neuropsychological testing.



Dr. Di Toro has over 15 years in the field of mental health and has been practicing psychotherapy for 7 years, She is a CA licensed clinical psychologist and is experienced as a researcher in clinical and academic settings. Her clinical experience includes both inpatient and outpatient settings.


She earned her Bachelor degree from Lehigh University in Psychology and Health & Human Development, with minors in Anthropology and Neuroscience, a Master of Science degree in Gerontology from San Diego State University, and a Master of Arts degree and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology. Her dissertation study was done through the UCSD Department of Family & Preventive Medicine implementing Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy for patients with acute depression in primary care.
