LPCA Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (NC)
I have been married for 21 years and have 3 children and 5 grandchildren. I am the executive director of Life Recovery Services PLLC (a small private practice) and work everyday helping people to better their lives. I enjoy therapy with couples and helping them communicate better.
My office is a small office with me, my wife and our 20 year old daughter working the front desk. My wife (MaDonna) and myself are both Licensed Counselors and we share in the office duties.
I have over 50 years of life experiences and have been with Life Recovery for 6 years. Previously, I worked at Eastern Correction as a case manager where I would advise inmates on personal problems, educational and training needs, employment resources, vocational skills, family problems and institutional adjustment. During my employment at the prison, I worked as the director of the "New Leash on Life" dog program. This program helped inmates relate to a dog for 8 weeks along with providing structure, meeting their needs such as food and water, giving love and a sense of meaning. I also counseled inmates on setting goals, planning for the future, ways to handle daily living and manage the stress of prison life.
I am originally from Kentucky where attended Western Kentucky University majoring in Sociology and ROTC. After moving to North Carolina, I attended Mt. Olive College and earned a degree in Religion. I completed my Master Degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. I have ten years experience in the military were I worked my way up to Captain.
