Leslie R. Schover, PhD has devoted her career to helping people with cancer to prevent or resolve problems with sexuality or fertility and is internationally recognized as a pioneer in research and treatment in this field. She founded Will2Love, after years of frustration at the lack of timely, accurate help for cancer-related problems with sexuality or fertility. She has expertise with cancer-related sexual dysfunctions, using cognitive behavioral sex therapy with individuals or couples. She also works with people on coping with pregnancy and cancer, decisions about fertility preservation, or choices about becoming a parent after cancer. She is enjoying her second career as a digital health entrepreneur. She also loves dogs, science fiction, historical novels, and travel.
Leslie R. Schover, PhD is a clinical psychologist, licensed in the state of Texas, and has Level II (advanced) Professional Training Certification from the Telebehavioral Health Institute. She retired in early 2016 from her position as Professor of Behavioral Science at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer to devote full time to Will2Love. She was a member of the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center faculty from 1981-1986 and 1999-2016. She was a staff psychologist at the Cleveland Clinic from 1986-1999. In 2016 she received the Holland Distinguished Leadership Award from the American Psychosocial Oncology Society. She has authored 4 books, 33 book chapters, and over 100 peer-reviewed journal articles.
She received her BA in psychology from Brown University, magna cum laude with honors in psychology and her PhD in clinical psychology from UCLA. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship in sex therapy and sex research from the National Institutes of Health at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. Dr. Schover is licensed as a psychologist in Texas (#22418, expires 9/20/2018).
