I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Liberty University. I utilize multiple modes of therapeutic interventions (talk, play, art, etc.) in treatment planning to help better assess and treat each individual adult, child, adolescent, and family’s needs. Treatment is designed to address the specific concerns of each individual; and is flexible to address multiple areas of needed growth and development. I conduct individual, family, marriage/couple, and group therapy with adults, children, and adolescents ages 4 to 80+.
I work with individuals, couples, and families to address issues related to anger, depression, anxiety, behavioral issues, problems with attention and focus, low self-esteem, improving communication skills, relationship issues, family issues and specialize in working with children, adolescents, and families struggling with divorce, family dynamics, developmental issues and daily life functioning. I believe in identifying each person’s inner strengths and utilize encouragement to help these strengths flourish in an effort to increase overall functioning. My work with children and adolescents is interactive and engages the child/adolescents in exploring their world to help increase positive, effective coping skills and communication skills. Working with adults, children, adolescents, and families to help better understand the issues they are struggling with and finding ways to support them during challenging periods in life, is an important aspect of my treatment philosophy. I also work collaboratively with the Psychiatrists, Physicians, community providers and school faculty to ensure quality care for all clients.
My goal is to assist each individual and/or family to develop skills to positively cope with current struggles and improve communication with support systems to help improve overall psychological health.
I have experience working with individuals, couples, and families to address issues related to anger, depression, anxiety, behavioral issues, problems with attention and focus, low self-esteem, improving communication skills, relationship issues, family issues, addiction, and specialize in working with children, adolescents, and families struggling with divorce, family dynamics, developmental issues and daily life functioning.
